Your Body, My Skin

‘Your Body, My Skin’ is a collaborative project with two other women, one of them being the photographer Sapphire Stewart, and the other a woman who wished to be anonymous. I wanted to create a body of work that addressed the unfair standards and representation of women's bodies. I have struggled with body image quite a lot, especially during my teenage years. Whether that was that my thighs were too big or I thought that my boobs were weird, it affected me. I wanted to collaborate with other women for the project as it would give a wider variety of bodies and opinions on the subject. I had given the women full freedom to create the work they wanted to, in whatever format they wanted. Through symbolism as well as multi-media, ‘Your Body, My Skin’ gives women the opportunity to share as little to as much as they want about their own insecurities as well as confidence in their bodies.
